So On the new Hemi bullet, I simply just dab'd some Right Stuff around all th water passages and in between the multi layerd steel head gasket shims.

TI really didnt like the way they head bolts torqued. It really annoyied me the amount of torque loss the copper spray adds. I didnt use any copper spray onn these cometics this time. Im actually 0-3 with these Cometics and leaking water, but after a heat cycle and a head retorque and a bottle of Bar's the leaks are taken care of. Its just a little extra insurance, and I also use Cometic gaskets which weep some water the first time more often than not. I always add a bottle of Bars leak also when I start the engine for the first time. there are two different size bolts that come throught the head and i need them to complete my motor. Just use a dab of permatex on the header bolts. i have a 89 indy 650 motor that i got a new gasket kit for and i need to know the indy 650 head bolt torque specs. I ended up using short studs on the ends which makes hanging headers, and keeping header gaskets in place during installtion.īut if not possible. I never seen the drip outside, but after I fired the engine up and it was warm I noticed on my Super Bee that you could hear what sounded like bacon frying inside the header. I asked around and it wasnt unheard of if they leaked a little. The castings I had was probably "2003" and the header bolts are suppose to be blind from the water jackets.
